Position Title: Birddog Pilot (Bilingual) – 2026 Fire Season
Employment Type: Full-time Seasonal Contract
Location: Maniwaki or Val-d'Or, Québec
As the Pilot-in-Command of an Aero Commander 500, you won’t just be flying, you’ll be leading the charge in one of the most critical roles in wildfire suppression. Your seat in the cockpit places you at the heart of the action, where precision, teamwork and rapid responses save forests, property, and lives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work closely with an Air Attack Officer to manage the busy airspace over a wildfire
- Help coordinate air tankers, helicopters, and ground crews in support of wildfire suppression efforts
- Work from their assigned bases (along with air tanker packages) during normal conditions but may be deployed across Canada or the United States to support escalated fire activity in other regions.
Your Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual in French and English
- Transport Canada CPL and Multi-Engine Rating (ATPL preferred)
- Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
- 1,000+ Hours Total Time
- 100+ Hours Multi-Engine PIC
- 50+ Hours Instrument Time
- Previous Birddog experience or time on AC50 an asset

Aux commandes d’un Aero Commander 500, vous aurez un rôle essentiel dans la lutte contre les incendies feux. À la manoeuvre, vous serez plongé dans l’action, où la precision, la collboration et la rapidité sont cruciales pour protéger des forêts, des biens et des vies.
Responsabilités du titulaire :
- Travaillerez en collaboration directe avec un officier d’attaque aérienne dans la gestion d’espace aérien aux alentours d’incendies.
- Appuierez ce préposé dans la gestion des ressources actives (avions-citernes, hélicoptères, pompiers au sol, etc.) afin de mieux répondre à leur mandat.
- Travaillerez à partir de bases d’avion citerne qui lui sont assignés en temps normal, mais vous pourriez être déployé à travers le Canada et les États-Unis pour soutenir la lutte contre les incendies dans d’autres régions.
Exigences :
- Une maitrise du français et de l’anglais
- CPL, avec multi-moteur, de Transports Canada (ATPL préféré)
- Qualification valide de vol aux instruments - Groupe 1
- 1 000+ heures de vol
- 100 heures de PIC sur multi-moteur
- 50+ heures de vol aux instruments
- Expérience antérieure en aéropointage ou expérience sur l’AC50 ou l’AC69, un atout
