Position Title: Fire Detection Pilot (C208) – 2026 Fire Season
Employment Type: Full Time, Seasonal Contract
Location: Dryden, Ontario
Role of a Fire Detection Pilot:
Detection Pilots support our Fire and Survey contracts and act as Pilot-In-Command of the Cessna 208 Caravan (and Cessna 337 Skymaster). As a Detection Pilot, you will conduct VFR patrols in search of lightning and human-caused wildfires across Northern Ontario. Aerial fire detection plays a critical role in the government’s wildfire management strategy to help ensure wildfires are found early when they are still small enough to be controlled.
Your Qualifications:
- Transport Canada Commercial Pilot License (or greater) and Multi-Engine Rating
- Category 1 Medical
- 1,000 Hours Total Time
- 500 Hours Pilot in Command Time
Preferred Candidates would have:
- 100 Hours Turbine Time
- Previous experience on the C208
- Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating
