Position Title: Birddog Pilot – 2026 Fire Season ($2,500 Signing Bonus!)
Employment Type: Full-time Seasonal Contract
Location: Dryden, ON
Salary: Starting at $80,000
As the Pilot-in-Command of an Aero Commander 500 or 690, you won't just be flying, you'll be leading the charge in one of the most critical roles in wildfire suppression. Your seat in the cockpit places you at the heart of the action, where precision, teamwork, and rapid response save forests, property, and lives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work closely with an Air Attack Officer to manage the busy airspace over a wildfire.
- Help coordinate air tankers, helicopters, and ground crews in support of wildfire suppression efforts.
- Work from your assigned base (along with air tanker packages) during normal conditions, but may be deployed across Canada or the United States to support escalated fire activity in other regions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Your Qualifications:
- Transport Canada CPL and Multi-Engine Rating (ATPL preferred).
- Valid Group 1 Instrument Rating.
- 2,000+ Hours Total Time.
- 300+ Hours Multi-Engine PIC.
- 250+ Hours on Turbine.
- Previous Birddog and/or AC50 or AC69 experience is an asset.
